Blastocyst IVF Transfer Boosts Pregnancy Chances

Let us first understand the development and role of blastocyst!
In natural process, the egg is fertilized by the sperm and they form a single cell called Zygote. Zygote divides further into 2 cells and then into 4 celled Embryo by end of the second day after fertilization.
Further division takes place on 3rd & 4th days after fertilisation, and the embryo is now 16 cells forming a berry-like structure. At this stage, the embryo is called Morula. On Day 5, cells further divide into cluster of around 200 cells called blast cells. Subsequently, a fluid-filled cavity is formed at the centre of embryo. The embryo is now called Blastocyst.
At the Blastocyst stage, the embryo attaches to the uterine lining. This is called implantation.
In Blastocyst transfers, there is a higher chance of the embryo attaching to the uterine lining – implantation. Therefore, a higher chance of pregnancy as implantation ensures that the coming baby will start receiving the nourishment from the mother’s blood supply. The fluid-filled cavity in blastocyst will become amniotic sac which surrounds and protects the coming baby.
This means in IVF procedure, when day 2 embryo transfer is done- one has to wait for embryo to develop into blastocyst till day 5th or 6th. As we consider day 5 blastocyst transfer- it is already developed to invade and implant itself into womb. Studies have shown implantation rates might be as high as 50% with blastocysts and as low as 30% with early-stage embryos. Depending on factors like younger age women under 40, with good production of ovaries and fewer number of previous failed IVF cycles, the chances of blastocyst transfer resulting in successful pregnancy may be higher.
In IVF procedure, day 2 embryo transfer is a common practice in all fertility and IVF clinics. Blastocyst culturing is available in few clinics and they probably charge you high prices for it. Some clinics do it more skilfully than others. Quality control and correct culturing techniques are essential for developing embryo into blastocyst.
Morpheus IVF has a pool of highly skilled embryologists. Our embryologists stick to extensive quality control procedures for developing and preserving embryos. They are even specialised in advanced techniques like Laser Assisted Hatching (LAH), and IMSI in addition to ICSI, Blastocyst cultures and vitrification techniques for treating difficult infertility cases.
Morpheus IVF provides Blastocyst culture and transfer under DYC+ program for couples wishing for baby.
Don’t keep wishing! Act to fulfill your wish for a healthy and happy baby. Increase the prospects of pregnancy with Blastocyst Transfer! Morpheus IVF is in your town!

Recurrent IVF Failure Is Depressing – Don’t Give Up!

Morpheus IVF Center One cycle after another… Again and again …. When you fail to conceive… it is frustrating….exhausting- physically, mentally and emotionally! Isn’t it? You are desperate to have a baby! You are facing IVF failure for fourth or fifth time! You are now emotionally drained! You are looking for the answers! A failed IVF cycle could be because of two reasons: 1) Embryos are not of good quality   2) Problem with endometrial receptivity. Successful embryo implantation depends on the health of the embryo.  In women with PCOD, the oocyte and embryo quality are significantly compromised and therefore, supplements are used to improve the quality; followed by aggressive super-ovulation to grow as many eggs as possible. The embryos formed may fail to implant because they may be chromosomally abnormal (even though they look normal). Research shows that the chances of chromosomal abnormalities even in good looking embryos are as high as 50%.  Genet...

EGG FREEZING / OOCYTE VITRIFICATION – NO LONGER EXPERIMENTAL

Cryopreservation of eggs has remained a challenge until recently. Egg is a large cell with a high water content. The older slow freezing methods could not completely prevent the ice crystal formation which damages the cell during freezing and thawing. This has been virtually eliminated by a relatively new technique called Vitrification or ultra rapid cooling. Studies have documented comparable results with ICSI/IVF on vitrified/warmed oocytes and fresh oocytes in younger women both in terms of fertilization and clinical pregnancy. Available data on the incidence of congenital abnormalities in the children born using vitrified/warmed eggs, though limited are also reassuring with no significant increase in risk when compared with conventional IVF/ICSI and the general population. American Society for Reproductive Medicine in January 2013 lifted the label ‘experimental” from oocyte vitrification. Successful oocyte vitrification program simplifies oocyte donation programs. There...
